There's been something on my mind that I've been needing to say :) So please do read on.
Everyday, the first thing that I do is check the payments that were made the day before. Throughout the day I process any other payments that come in the mail and take credit card payments over the phone. This means that I'm aware of every renewed account and every new account on a daily basis.
Everyday, without fail, I see people sponsoring others. Every month, without fail, I see accounts sending in extra to go towards sponsorships. I doubt that any other site in the world can say the same. While it's true that bonus CCs might play a part in why some people decide to sponsor others, it's also a very good indication of something I've known to be true for over six years. Here it comes:
Cytonian's ROCK! You are such an incredible group of people. The way you help your fellow members who can't quite make a payment, or those who are truly in dire financial need and have only CT to help them escape a sad reality, or communicate with friends astonishes me every day. I truly believe that the loyal supporters of Cybertown and it's members are a different "breed" of people than can be found anywhere else in the world wide web. Just as Cybertown is unique, so too are it's members.
Maybe this is something that would have been best posted in Feedback, or perhaps I should have kept it back for one of those occasion when I might need a "speech", but in some ways complimenting someone on a day that is not a special occasion at all seems to mean more. I want it to mean more to each one of you. Please, take a moment today.... and everyday.... to take notice of yourselves and others, with this in mind. Those who cannot help others with sponsorships need to do this also ... it's not all about money. When a Cytonian can't help out another member financially, I see many other forms of individual support given daily. You ALL deserve a huge pat on the back and a truckload of Twinkies! I thank you all for being the way you are :)
One last thing. Almost done! Since the beginning, it was agreed that CT's social and political issues would continue to be maintained and dealt with as they were in the days when the site was free. Although IVN isn't generally involved in those issues, please know that they are well aware of how wonderfully supportive our Cytonian "family" is. When I say "thank you" I'm also speaking for them. Thank you all.
