jdb_educator interviewed jojo111 on MSN chat the week of February 14, 12010, with inboxed follow up questions. Our interview rules are pretty simple and one version may be viewed here: http://cvnweekly.50megs.com/000/Interviews/interview-rules.html-editor's noteCVN : Hello, we are chatting with JoJo111, who is named as "NL in training" in her colony. I've never seen that happen, is that something new?
JoJo111 : I am not sure
CVN : lol np, neither are we! How did you arrive at this surprising stage with so few experience points?
JoJo111 : I started as Block Deputy and worked very hard with all residents of CT to learn all that I could about it. I read manuals and took tests to study and make sure I was learning properly. The NL stands for neighborhood leader
CVN : That's a lot of work, and in a short time too! How did you find Cybertown?
JoJo111 : I have always been a wanderer of the internet, wanting to find something that would teach me as well as be fun. I checked out many VWs[Virtual Worlds] before arriving here and came in on the 30 day trial plan. After two weeks I knew this is what I was looking for. the people pulled me in right away. Everyone here is so willing to help you.
CVN : Which Virtual Worlds did you check out?
JoJo111 : I checked out second life, moove , there, IMVU, and there are others but those are the main ones
CVN : What did you find here in Cybertown that told you "this is it!"
JoJo111 : Well, the people make Cybertown. It is family oriented and that is important to me even though I don't have children . I like good clean fun
CVN : That's great! Let me join the well wishers to say: "we hope you have a great experience here and stay with us a longtime! And likewise, we are always willing to help too!
JoJo111 : Thanks. :) I am now preparing for the job I want in events and funding.
CVN : Events and funding, those are both very important jobs.
JoJo111 : Yes, I am an accountant in real life so that is a lot of fun for me to do . I like the responsibility.
Not to mention I have a lot of free time lol.
CVN : Accountancy is a hard unforgiving field! You are used to responsibility!
CVN : What kind of training are you getting on those areas?
JoJo111 : Learning from the bottom up and I have friends like ShyOne5 who helped me with a lot of things in the block deputy job.
JoJo111 : I also have a resource called the master book that tells you how to do everything in Cybertown compliments of DannyKing. Mamamia is also taking the time with me to show me step by step everything I need to know. Old school training.
CVN : That kind of training is hard to find on the net these days. Let's go back. You started as a Deputy Block Leader, take us through what you have done in each job you've held
JoJo111 : I was in charge of checking
CVN : Images *nods* frequency of block sign ins too?
JoJo111 : Pictures ,links, inboxes, messages at each level and was asked to socialize with the new residents and visitors. I developed a template for the report to turn in every two weeks
CVN : *applause* So you have web skills too?
JoJo111 : Yes
CVN : What education and training do you have?
JoJo111 : I have an associates degree in accounting and bachelors degree in business management.
CVN : What software programs do you use? I have all window office apps such as word, excel, power point, etc. and I have a lot of other software, myself, that let's me do pretty much what want to do .
CVN : Super! What kind of coding skills?
JoJo111 : html is about it. I am starting classes in June for Information Tech Specialist. That is why it was important to get somewhere that I could learn.
CVN : lol That will drive you crazy! I hope you can find a lot of fun in it!
JoJo111 : I love computer games and anything to do with computer. Anything with computers and I am there! Right now I do mostly hardware.
CVN : Me too. but games are such time eaters, I have to be very careful
JoJo111 : Yes and time does get away from you.
CVN : lol sounds like a future IT specialist to me :)
JoJo111 : Yep, I hope so . This will also help me with skills in CT
CVN : Without a doubt, it will serve as help in CT and CT will serve as help with IT
JoJo111 : Right now I am a disabled veteran, so I have plenty of time
CVN : What difference did you find between BD and BL?
JoJo111 : Mostly the level of responsibilities. At the BL level you are responsible for the BD so if they don't do their job, you have to handle that situation tactfully.
CVN : So BL was your first supervisory position in CT *nods* Then you were named ND?
JoJo111 : Yup. I am preparing for the CD job in events and donations. Right now I am a disabled veteran, so I have plenty of time. I hope to be ready for that job within a month.
CVN : What happened that you became a disabled vet?
JoJo111 : I fell in a fox hole and messed up my right foot and ankle real bad.
CVN : Ouch, is it permanent?
JoJo111 : 8 surgeries in 2 years. Wheelchair for distance, my back went too. 4 surgeries on that.
CVN : Hugz and sympathies. Makes for a hard road. Is pain a problem too?
JoJo111 : Yes. It is severe at times. Lots of medication.
CVN : That often is true in such cases. Have they sent you to pain management classes?
JoJo111 : Yes, I have been working with a pain management doctor for years . Shots and all of the physical therapy. Now it is mostly pain meds.
CVN : I'm sure they've told you that you will get accustomed to the meds and will have to change until there is little they can do?
JoJo111 : Yep . I try to take meds as little as possible. Only take them when I can't stand the pain anymore
CVN : Scary stuff! Good for you! Meds will last longer and so will relief.
JoJo111 : Sometimes I do have to go to the emergency room and get a shot of morphine.
CVN : I can believe that.
JoJo111 : Oh well, what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. I don't let it stop me . I am a smart women and use what I have.
CVN : Good! And lol very true. but it is a hard way to get strong! Back to CT You are still a BL?
JoJo111 : No, but I am still a Block Deputy. And, of course, can put myself in as BL, if needed in the blocks I watch. so ... yep
CVN : Yes. In Citizens you are listed as:
- Club Owner The Right Price
- Block Deputy Sherwood Forest
- Club Owner Newcomers Gala
- Neighborhood Leader Age of Kings
- Neighborhood Deputy Age of Kings
- Club Owner JoJo's Place
- Club Owner The Theme
- Club Owner The Right Stuff
JoJo111 : That's right. I've found also that there are a lot of physically challenged peeps here in CT.
CVN : Yes there are! And we are grateful. They have usually proved to be very hard workers, reliable and perform incredible feats of contributions to our city. Cybertown offers a lot of entertainment, opportunity and family-type fun for all our citizens.
Mamamia tells us you "started as BD, then BL, Then ND....training for NL with her. Our colony's eyes are set on the goal of her taking the event CD position. "JoJo111 : Yes
CVN : So...according to Citizens lol you ARE a Neighborhood Deputy and Neighborhood Leader right now. Is the NL for the training? .
JoJo111 : Good! My short term goal :) ... yes that is right, NL in training is what they told me. If I am listed as NL, that is only for my training. I have not been confirmed as NL yet.
CVN : Once they've named you as NL, then CD is likely next. You mentioned your short term goal. What are your short term goals? Your long term goals?
JoJo111 : Well my short term goal is to reach the CD of events position and to learn all that goes with that job. I would like to do the best job possible for my colony. My long term goal is to finish my education in the information technology field. I intend to use what I learn there to help the residents of CT the way they helped me.
CVN : Tell us about your clubs, please :)
JoJo111 : I have 5 clubs. They are: JoJo's Place, The Theme, The Right Price, The Right Stuff, Newcomers Gala . All of these clubs are like stores you can actually shop in. They are stocked frequently and the prices are low to accommodate the new resident. When you first get here you don't have a lot of cc's and are in need of all of these things that are in these shops. Shopping here is fun and affordable.
CVN : Hopefully this interview will get you some business in the clubs too. Let's move on, shall we. What do you do as a ND and NL in training?
JoJo111 : Basically keep an eye on the neighbor hood, welcome new peeps to hood. And watch pics ,links ,inboxes, and mb at the neighborhood level. Also lots of training.
CVN : Good to read .
JoJo111 : I like to know what I am doing ... lol ... most of the time.
CVN : lol I certainly understand that! Sometimes we can only wonder :D As we wrap up this interview ... Do you have anything else you would like to tell our readers?
JoJo111 : Yes, I would like to thank the residents of CT for being so nice and helpful. In a short time they have become my family. Mostly sweet with some nuts. lol I also do appreciate you for giving me the opportunity to let peeps know how much they are appreciated!
CVN : We are glad to provide that opportunity, and I have to agree with that assessment on all levels: family, sweet, and some nuts! We thank you for your interview and -in our own turn - appreciate your willingness to be interviewed by CVN.
