Middle Earth Hood opened in the former Lost City of Atlantis in Virtual Worlds Saturday at 12 noon, May 1, 2092 local time CyT. You could almost feel the breeze with the excitement at the ribbon cutting. We have short speeches and three pics from the2d chat: Shaman_, Middle Earth NL; zoozee, CD; Jolinth, Cybertown Mayor. The after celebration action included trivia and lots of prizes.

Shaman_: Welcome everyone to Middle Earth When I was asked to join Middle Earth team my first thoughts were ok, just another hood. But as we started to work on what we wanted for this hood, it soon became clear that this was not just another hood. Instead it was something new and yet something old. Middle Earth is to be as open as possible in its running and is looking for maximum resident participation in all aspects of the hood. All meetings will be open to all residents. Minutes of meetings will be posted on the boards for all to read.

Shaman_: Middle Earth is looking to return to the time when a hood in CT was a close knit family. All this would not be possible without the tireless effort of our Colony Staff and I would like to thank them for their amazing work.

Jolinth: The opening of a new hood is always exciting, and this hood also holds a bit of specialness for me too. :) Middle Earth, just a wonderful world isn't it :]] Besides the fact that I'm a huge LOTR fan, I think the concept of having a hood that is extremely close knit is one to be proud of. CT has seen huge growths and sudden declines pulling together to bring back the harmony and togetherness. Of being in one place is truky special. I commend you on the concept :] Most of you know I'm not one of huge speeches.

zoozee: This is a very special occasion…it is not often that a colony opens up a new hood. But today I am pleased to announce that we are opening Middle Earth as Virtual Worlds new hood.

zoozee: A big Thank You goes to all that have been working hard to get Middle Earth ready for this day. I wish the best of luck for all its present and future residents and staff. Middle Earth you are now on your journey to success. Long live Middle Earth.
