Guidelines for CVN News

  1. All reporters will receive the CVN title after having 2 articles published in either in weekly or daily news.

  2. When interviewing, reporters must always ask the person if you may print the quote in whole, or use part of what they are saying.

  3. You must never modify a quote, without permission, because that can be defamation of character.

  4. All reporters must have 1 story weekly either for the daily or weekly news, or have an accepted excuse.

  5. All stories must be factual,*with the exception of a fictional storyline* and sources such as interviews, or websites must be listed or provided so the Editor make certain that all the information is true.

  6. All items must follow the CT Constitution.

  7. Section Heads must have their Section prepared each week, with atleast 3 weeks of material prepared in advance so we can be ready to publish, really publish weekly! when the new magazine is expected to be published.

  8. Sections each week must be zipped and sent to the Managing Editor and the Editor of the weekly news to be placed in the Archive Site(s).

  9. All sections must follow the same basic format as the others to make it easier for people to read, identify sections and post articles or e-mails.

  10. Each section must have a proofreader and an editor working at all times to make the work easier, more reasonable and consistent.

  11. At least very two weeks reporters should meet with management in the News Center to disscuss the events and, if possible, hand out assignments and honors.
