Security Update

By Oherra, Special to CVN

Security is a large organization within Cybertown currently employing 26 officers. Our primary task and #1 goal is to ensure that each and every resident of Cybertown has the best chat experience possible. We maintain this objective by carrying out a two part mission that includes rules enforcement and user education.

Many times you will see officers sitting in the various chat rooms of Cybertown. The officers are there to explain the rules to the citizens, to answer general questions, and to help out with problems as they arise. We are not there to be all powerful, all knowing, chat monitors. Our main goal is to be a polite and friendly servant to the people of Cybertown. We are always delighted to chat with our fellow citizens and would love for everyone to say hello the next time they run into an officer.

We are a full service establishment that will help any citizen of Cybertown to the best of our ability. It does not matter what colony you are from or where you are at in the city. We will travel to any area as quickly as we can if we are notified of a potential problem. There are things that you can do to help us serve you and to ensure you get the best service possible form us.

Use the security inbox in the jumpgate for non-emergent situations such as background check requests, information on how to clear your record, and general questions. This reserves the alert for the true emergencies and allows us to respond to those situations first.

When you use the security alert, do not send it with the default message "I have a security problem. Please contact me fast." This message does not give the officers enough information to help you. When responding to the alerts we need to know three things: 1) The nature of the offense 2) The person committing the offense and 3) who is the person

It would be much better to send something like "CitizenX is cursing in the Plaza" as that tells us everything we need to know. If the offense happens in a large room try and have only one person send us an alert. Multiple alerts actually slow us down.

With your cooperation we will be able to better serve you and all of the citizens of our wonderful City.
