The Generations of Cybertown:
The Untold Story

Many people these days find themselves restricted from having the true nickname they want in Cybertown. There are two reasons:
1. Many nicknames have already been taken and are now used or "warehoused" because the individual has left Cybertown.
2. because we are a family chat. We have run into many newcomers who have been unaware that Cybertown is indeed a friendly chat unlike it's chat neighbour Yahoo.

It would help if all newcomers would actually read the rules. As most people are aware that Yahoo has changed their chat format disallowing personal chats and some of those people who once had a vivid nickname in Yahoo have found their way to Cybertown. They sign up and pick the nickname they once had only to find out it is against CT rules to have that name. Reading the constitution first of course would be a big help! Since CT keeps track of E-mails, (they are forced to by law and to protect our citizens):
A. continue under that nickname and risk likely banning or
B. create a new Cybertown account. (this is recommended)

We have discovered, like most people, that there are now four generations in Cybertown, the newest wizard generation began this past summer(2090-currently 19 people who have been in CT the longest with a record of solid contribution to the city) the Templar generation (10,000 exp. points and at least 2 years valuable contribution with completely clean record), the Elder generation (5,000 exp. points and at least 1 year valuable contribution with "good record") and the "New Be" generation (commonly called newbies).

Each you can almost tell simply by the nicknames, we've noticed that the Templar generation is more laid back and at times more active in chats, games and the blocks. Their nicknames have a certain quality to them, such as ferretlady & deadlystorm two people whom this reporter knows well by now and they are indeed active and know the rules of the road.

If you have not looked at the Cybertown Rewards site Please do visit it!

The Wizard generation is currently the oldest, there are ONLY 26 Wizards listed at the website. There you can view rewards, available, honored nicknames and applications for awards.

Next Year comes the 5th generation, the VIRTMASTER - 20,000 exp. points and at least 4 years valuable contribution with a completely clean record! Then comes KNIGHT VIRTUAL - 25,000 exp. points and at least 5 years valuable contribution with a completely clean record Currently Wizards need to establish 15,000 exp. points and at least 3 years valuable contribution with a completely clean record.

The Templar generation seems to be a kinder generation then most, if you were to ask 'How do I...' they'd be the ones to give you the full instructions. Ever need a loan of CC they'd be the ones to lend you it or help you out.

The Elder generation is a generation mostly filled with Bls and a few Bds, a few would give you the full detailed instructions but would most likely give you 'Go to the How Do I button on the right'. These people are the ones that hope to move fast up the chain of Command (blocks, hoods, colony levels) and gain some experience rather than spend a great amount of time in one area.

The "New Be" generation is the hardest to handle, they often don't know the rules and a few (if not many) tend to disobey some of the rules they have been told about. They are often called 'Snerts', we hear. Security has the most experience with them. We would say (best unchecked guess) 7 out of 12 people who first come into CT will become one of the Elder generation, perhaps as few as 4 of that 7 will make it to the Templar generation. Cybertown offers many future friendships for those who make it through their first months. This success depends on citizens developing friendships with them that keep them coming back. Many of those cyber-friends may also become RL (real life) friends. This reporter has been in CT for nearly 3 years, is one of the Templar generation, and has watched much of what we report here...

Great jobs await those who make it to the higher levels of experience and levels of honors. Imagination, persistence, creativity and the willingness to come back to Cybertown day after day will get you there!
