This may be radically different from your routine but it is mine. I usually wake up at about 6 am in the morning, have a quick breakfast consisting of milk and toast then stock up on wine gums, drinks and shut myself away playing games till my eyes bleed, then I get ready for college and run there or I’ll be late. I even take a Gameboy Advance to College and play there. So you may have realised I totally eat, sleep and breathe Computer games. You wouldn't believe the dreams!

     The reason? Well I discovered the absolute greatness of computer games when I purchased a Sega Mega Drive, I spent hours playing that. Then, the newest and greatest console appeared. First came Super Nintendo. I was very, very close to buying one, but when the Sega Saturn appeared, I bought one. In agony I took it back because the newest, greatest, and the console many of us still play today, was released it was called the Sony Playstation. Now I own and love Playstation 2. I am totally amazed at its sheer power and graphical capability.

     Enough chatter, let’s get to the point. Over many years computer games have developed into arguably the greatest form of entertainment in the world. It has it all, sport, fight, adventure, battle etc., EVERYTHING! If you think of any subject you can bet your bottom dollar there will be a computer game of it someway, somehow. They contain tearful scenes full of emotion. They contain fantastic theme music. They create hours of fun.

     Another great thing about computer games is that many game developers buy licenses such as movies, books and sometimes even cartoons! For example the smash hit "The World is Not Enough" had to be bought in order for a game to appear after the movie. I know there is a Austin Powers game on the way though details are so secure that it’s like breaking into the White House to get them! All I know is that the graphics alone, took two years to make.Sometimes movies follow games, for example Tomb Raider and the coming Resident Evil and Tekken Movies.

     So you’re saying what’s the best console around? Well each of them has their own unique abilities. PS2 has a beautiful sleek design, the X-Box has Halo ( compared to PS2’s line up of games this is utter pap) X-Box comes with hard drive and modem. Gamecube is portable, but not as powerful as X-box and PS2. Gamecube is a rather fetching purple colour, though. Then, My beloved PS2 is established, has sold millions of units.

     So each console has its own unique abilities. But push me to say one, or just raise an eyebrow question and I’d say PS2 by a bit. The reasons? It is more powerful than X-Box and Gamecube. Its sleek and beautiful. It has superb games such as Metal Gear Solid 2 (the X-Box version is a cheap add-on) Tekken 4, Timesplitters, Grand Theft Auto 3 , Return to Castle Wolfenstein all of which are sure to pursuade people to buy a PS2 as the games are fantastic! Jak and Daxter, WipEout Fusion, Quake, Devil May Cry, need I continue? I think not. I'm headed off to play as soon as I finish this work! Also the PS2’s on-line service is real and proper and you don’t have to be on AOL to enjoy it. (in heaven)

     So now you are asking what is the greatest game in the world. Well straight answer: Metal Gear Solid 2. I am always sampling videos of this perfect game. The graphics are jaw-dropping beautiful. The game play is flawless and original. The story will keep you guessing till the very end. So please Konami send me a finished copy of this game to save me from waiting? Please!!!!! (falls on knees begging)

     In my opinion, computer games will live forever, and new consoles on the way such as Sony Playstation 3/ Sony Omega , Nintendo Spark , Microsoft Accell and even the ill fated Dreamcast have all managed to spawn a child with the Sega Blackbelt. With all these consoles due in 2006 (the blackbelt may not even come yet) the future of gaming is looking very bright indeed. As technology continues to grow so will gaming. The futures bright, the future is computer gaming.
