CVN Weekly congratulates and sends hugz to our new mayor Jolinth on her selection of KoalaBear as Deputy Mayor (see the Daily News) and congratulates Scorpion for sticking with the team as Secretary!
Cytonia Productions has an incredible movie trailer for their upcoming ePlex video production of "Avatar" in the Daily News also...on Cybertown. It is awesome! Our congrats to staff there!! LOL We hope you are reading the Cybertown Daily News!
The biggest change in the Weekly will be less from me and more from other section heads or we will die away and go bye-bye. It is likely that this little column will provide most of my writing efforts on a weekly basis, unless more time becomes free. Short edits, reviews of pages and sections and of course email and possibly helping with writing grants will be most of my CVN and Cybertown written participation. I personally plan on finding chatting time to keep upwith all my friends in CT, since lol so many of them won't email me! *looks at all those friends with sad, lonely puppy dog eyes with one tear running down the right cheek... (think that will work, readers? *wink*) Publication of CVN Weekly now moves to Saturday. Other sections can publish on whatever day works for them. They just need to send out their email notice so they are linked in our weekly issue.
Our self-serving News, this week is a CVN is still trying out the new game format. If you haven't looked!.Our two year effort to develop a challenging game for newbie journalists is slowly progressing. It will be a constantly evolving game that provides even more opportunities to write. Lenire is developing a Monthly news magazine for our beginning writers. Bilbo13 has the CSN, Cybertown Society pages need writers, htmlers etc... Lots of room to play, as long as we follow the CT constitution! It is a wondeful effort and works well. Rkgbiolgst , bless her, is ALWAYS bound to have cool stuff for readers and fun reading. Contributors for each issue will be added to their own section staff pages,we hope...
Hawk continues hard at work planning the changes and has been offering, suggesting and encouraging recruitment efforts that will put Cybertown onto the road to financial stability. The quality of people working with him is simply incredible and the citizen contributions to that effort have been awesome. I have only seen part of this project, but am continually astonished by Hawk's dedication, efforts and work ethic. There will continue to be changes that will benefit all citizens and our beloved Cybertown over the long haul. Many Cytonians are working with Hawk to identify potential Sponsors, provide additional ways for those interesting in and willing to make donations and generally provide future support for our Cybertown ~Civilization of the Future~, aka ~Civilization for the Virtual Age~.
The Weekly News continues this week we are reorganizing the cub-reporters and CVN yahoo groups. This editor has looked hard at retirement, as the new new job has started. At this point I have resigned my "political" jobs as Block Leader. Likely I will find a corner of CT to continue to play. As CVN is my love, lol I'm sure IF I retire I will continue to write and publish there. At the very best my 60 hour weeks on the net will become a thing of the past. This past week I think I achieved 4 hours before this weekend.(lol only two chatting)I did get in another 3 or so on email.
For this issue of the Weekly: The fun pages are back and we may have a team building there. Cool jokes and fascinating humorous info... The Writing Zone continues to provide content. Our on New onsite poll is finally up.
We have one exciting club on the Teens page. Sadly, Blondie101 is in the process of taking the teen pages over. Other hoods in teens will hopefully get some exposure!and are welcome to join, and send their news for this page!
CVN at the movies has a review this week and adds a play seen in Toronto this week. Be sure to check there! Seina continues to edit Unkka Jim for me and Dolly66 has sadly left us by not sending in more reviews. She is welcome back anytime! lol My writing time has vanished. It seems to be focused on web research and lesson plan writing for my real life classes.
Serious editors with time, interest and ability, who can make at least simple html pages are definitely needed Contact jdb_educator@msn.com.
CVN Biography will continue, and stay up. There are certainly long delays in content addition there, but the quality of writing is superior. I will just hope and pray they get some more up! We expect to move it to a new publication now in the planning stages, perhaps the VIRT when it makes a re-appearance... The music pages appear to be gone As you can see we are still providing
lots of information and fun reading to Cybertown! As always, we extend our Congrats to those few who are writing and sending. YOU are CVN. "Thank You!"
So read on and enjoy :) Be sure to come back next week or even more often this week!
Here at CVN we have lots of new activities and pages developing. All the CVN Deputies agreed everyone in management should have their own page or section! As we continue this dynamic experiment in Internet journalism, We hope you look forward to more and varied content, lots of activities and neat contests from around the city.
Our focus is simple: fun, entertainment, good and reasonable content, and the improvement of writing. Our goal is to report the news in Cybertown that does not duplicate the Daily News or would be more appropriate for this magazine format.
Job openings and possibilities are, as always, wide open. Anyone who wants to play, learn, grow, and work is welcome. A request for a job, or application and two contributions to our news organization that we publish in the Daily News or the Weekly News are required for Cybertown titles and virtual pay.(the only kind we can afford!)
