Oh That Summer Computer Maintenance

When I wrote this article on a grimy piece of paper, instead of a nice clean word document, my computer was cheerfully resting in the computer shop for maintenance. I suspect it was a computer party I wasn't invited to attend.

Problems that computers cause us poor frustrated users are not always software or human mistakes, it IS actually and always possible that it’s a hardware related problem. Of course those problems can be all three of the above mentioned possibilities!

My "problem" was the back of my computer was smelling just a bit burned. My first guess was that it was the cooler fan inside. But for safety reasons I bravely took my computer to the computer store to get an expert answer and... the verdict was: "it’s the electrical supply" ( to be exact: there was a wire inside that was almost burned out ).

This might have been caused by lightening or something like that. But my experts said: "that’s unlikely". My cable connection wire was on when bad weather was trying to destroy the world around me, but it’s unlikely that that caused it, either. Best bets are it was the Roman God of War, Mars or simple mechanical failure! (Shakes fist at Mars, "You picked on the wrong person, boyo!")

Actually, I will try to be more careful from now on with that cable connection, because lightening can "cook" computers if you don't have great power surge protection.... and even then... So the point of this article is: Do computer maintenance, if you can afford it! Suffer and pray if you cannot, or find a friend to help you! Better that slight cost to keep your computer in good shape then to see your computer damaged, burnt, your home burned down etc. etc. And the worst of all is those hours...days...weeks of red eyed crying when you cannot chat with your friends in and around Cybertown!.
