Cybertown Virtual News IS CVN

Issue 92 for the week of September 21 now hits the cyber news stands!

Can you believe we are only 8 short issues from our 100th issue!

Today, I am here to bring you the News from around the city, and to continue to provide, display and encourage the activities, interests and knowledge of our Cytonian population. My grateful thanks go to the new business section and the v-paper staff as relative newcomers to CVN. Even the participation there seems to be dropping off. As always I send Hugz and appreciation to my reliable peeps Rkgbiolgst38, for her ongoing weekly contributions over at the Writing Zone and editorial page; Blondie101 for the New ypdated teens section and our few weekly contributing writers and editors. by the way, PLEASE Don't forget about that Writing Zone writing contest!

Let's get on with it!

Everyone is encouraged to attend Delphines retirement party over at Adventure Colony: Saturday 21 September 2090 4pm CyT . Hope you can get there! We may have a couple of sections updated or added tomorrow (Sunday). The Weekly news continues to be even sparser this week with content, but we have successfully improved the Daily News with current stories thanks to our dedicated contacts in Cybertown.com! Almost Everyone on the weekly side appears to be busy with those draggy RL things. We are in contact with the mayor about future articles and a column.(hope hope) We have inquiries about the Society pages, and a possible column on weddings for there or even for our growing business pages. But *sigh* much of that is only possible future content. Opportunities with CVN exist in every section! We continue our hunt for star reporters, writers and editors. We have a superb interview with MrPhillip, Cybertown City Architect, continuing from last week by KarinBR who supplied the Pointworld/Cybergate history a couple of weeks ago (now in the resources section of our weekly news). We ARE always lookingfor Holiday features AND news. So...interested writers/researchers send us stories! Email us!

My time is cut back to online Saturdays and usually half a day at that. (Dadratted RL) So it is up to interested cytonians to provide the additional reporting needed. Read the staff page to see available sections. Likewise, if you have a news site for Cybertown send us the url, we will add it to our weekly. It is likely to be placed on the colony page, but could end up as a feature!

Congrats to lenire for completing his monthly on time and schedule. Worth looking at is lenire's first issue of the CVN Monthly revealed on September 11. I don't know if any colony board posts were made, but we sent it out using the CVN published email. Please notify us if you have a group that wants to receive notice of Cybertown news.

CVN Weekly will claim no responsibility for what other people have on their site. So caution in exploring those URLs is recommended. We received notice of some CT "offensive language" but do not see ourselves in this publication or the monthly as required to eliminate such websites from our use. Our focus is on the article we present, whether in the weekly or monthly. Obviously we try to avoid an over abundance of the too often used "bad words" simply believing their use shows a lack of creativity and poor selection of word choices available. However our thanks do go to those correspondents who alert us of possible errors in judgement, or other errors they catch for us. Several of our Cybertown friends have pointed out dangers and concerns in the past. We treat each notification as serious and think, before we respond. Since we are truly independent of Cybertown, we recognize that Cybertown is not responsible for our actions, and do URGE common sense and caution in clicking on ANY url of our publication here. We are certain that you would have to explore thoroughly to find bad language at all in the Daily. The daily News is the official site news for CVN. The rest of our publications are citizen written and supervised, providing practice for those interested in developing journalist or cyber publication skills. So read on and enjoy :) Be sure to come back next week or even more often this week!

*****
Here at CVN we have lots of new activities and pages developing. All the CVN Deputies agreed everyone in management should have their own page or section! As we continue this dynamic experiment in Internet journalism, We hope you look forward to more and varied content, lots of activities and neat contests from around the city.

Our focus is simple: fun, entertainment, good and reasonable content, and the improvement of writing. Our goal is to report the news in Cybertown that does not duplicate the Daily News or would be more appropriate for this magazine format.

Job openings and possibilities are, as always, wide open. Anyone who wants to play, learn, grow, and work is welcome. A request for a job, or application and two contributions to our news organization that we publish in the Daily News or the Weekly News are required for Cybertown titles and virtual pay. (The only kind we can afford!)

See our Job Openings or send a CVN application!
