Cybertown Virtual News IS CVN

Party-PAR-tay-PARTY Next week!!! See the Activities page for November for DETAILS! Issue 99 for the week of November 09 now hits the cyber news stands!

ONE short issue, from our 100th issue! I am personally in AWE.:)) and getting scared err thrilled to death! (chuckle) Our writers, editors, picture takers, managers and all staff continue to preovide content and allow us to present different parts of the city and activities. Sometimes it is a HARD road. This seems to us one example of "What Hawk Has Desired": People fighting to accomplish real life on the Internet and having fun. To many internet readers our accomplishment may seem small. I think that our success is huge. Here we are a very small zine made up of many individuals who are creating their own zines within our publication and exploring their talents, writing articles for all of us and getting them published. Many are peeps who never ever expected to see their nicknames in print. Many of our writers are people who do not see the talent they have,(it IS there) and all are continually developing new skills. To myself, (and hopefully to you) this is simply wonderful.

Today,of course, I am here to bring you the News from around the city, and to continue to provide, display and encourage the activities, interests and knowledge of our Cytonian population. Cybertown is moving beyond its 1, 000, 000th ONE Millionth) resident. Go ye forth and Recruit, recruit, recruit for the two millionth resident!!

By the way, PLEASE visit our Novermber Writing Contest at the Writing Zone! Writing Zone, for the November, Thanksgiving Writing Contest!!

      Let's get on with it!

Small issue this week, as we save for next week. Tomorrow (Sunday)..is set aside for writing... The time continues to fly and the writings don't come floating in as fast! We are gathering some that have been sent for our 100th issue. The Big News of course is advertised all over Cybertown. ALL citizens are encouraged to make that 10 AM meeting Sunday, November 17th at City Hall.

My time is and likely will continue to be cut back to online Saturdays & Sundays and usually only half a day at that, on each day. (Such is RL) So it is up to interested cytonians to provide the additional reporting needed. Read the staff page to see available sections, openings and possibilities. LOL Creativity allows a 1000 additional possible creations. Likewise, if you have a news site for Cybertown send us the url, we will add it to our weekly. It is likely to be placed on the colony page, but could end up as a feature!

So there you go, read on and enjoy :) Be sure to come back next week or even more often this week!

*****
Here at CVN we have lots of new activities and pages developing. All the CVN Deputies agreed everyone in management should have their own page or section! As we continue this dynamic experiment in Internet journalism, We hope you look forward to more and varied content, lots of activities and neat contests from around the city.

Our focus is simple: fun, entertainment, good and reasonable content, and the improvement of writing. Our goal is to report the news in Cybertown that does not duplicate the Daily News or would be more appropriate for this magazine format.

CVN Weekly will claim no responsibility for what other people have on their site. So caution in exploring those URLs is recommended and even urged. We received notice of some CT "offensive language" but do not see ourselves in this publication or the monthly as required to eliminate such websites from our use. People can always find something offensive if they choose to look far enough, or click on other pages than we send them to read. Our focus is on the article we present, whether in the weekly or monthly. Obviously we try to avoid an over abundance of the too often used "bad words" simply believing their use shows a lack of creativity and poor selection of word choices available. However our thanks do go to those correspondents who alert us of possible errors in judgement, or other errors they may catch for us, ranging from html to dead links. Several of our Cybertown friends have pointed out dangers and concerns in the past. We treat each notification as serious and think, before we respond. Since we are truly independent of Cybertown, we recognize that Cybertown is not responsible for our actions, and do URGE common sense and caution in clicking on ANY url of our publication here. We are certain that you would have to explore thoroughly to find bad language at all in the Daily. The Daily News is the official site news for CVN. The rest of our publications are citizen written and supervised, providing practice for those interested in developing journalist or cyber publication skills.

Job openings and possibilities are, as always, wide open. Anyone who wants to play, learn, grow, and work is welcome. A request for a job, or application and two contributions to our news organization that we publish in the Daily News or the Weekly News are required for Cybertown titles and virtual pay. (The only kind we can afford!)
See our Job Openings or send a CVN application!
