Moving? Abroad.

Introduction to our Moving? section
by jdb_educator
--- June 17 --- Here we plan to look at different parts of the world to explore possible retirement locations that might allow us to do many of the things we've wanted to do, but have not gotten done yet. We will see whether this provides enough fun or stimulation to add to it regularly. The page itsef needs reorganization, so that is likely our first task. For today, we merely delete extra material and add a general search or two: Exploring American ex-patriate communities: http://www.bing.com/search?q=american+expatriate+communities&qs=AS&form=QBLH&pq=american+ex-pat&sc=8-15&sp=8&sk=AS7

More Barriers For Older Workers?
by jdb_educator
--- May 16 --- Here are many of the problems we have encountered ourselves in attempting to get a new job. It is not easy to overcome these roadblocks. Just getting an interview is a huge success. All anyone can do is persevere. For older workers it is a constant process of re-examination of every aspect of the job search.

Retire Abroad?
by jdb_educator, CVN Editor

--- May 13 --- We continue to explore this avenue and think of both he costs and benefits, even as we seek job opportunities here in the US. Here is the latest offering for potential retirement: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/retire-pacific-1-200-per-161307841.html

---April 29--- Here are a couple pages that we enjoyed. Unfortunately, we've found that with the economic problems in France, that jobs are extremely hard to find and costs in most places run about the same as in the US. Our eyes light up at the possibilities of travel, but our pocketbook slams shut and advises us to seek elsewhere! Still, these are beautiful, historic sites we share with you.

http://www.ville-treguier.fr/patrimoine-treguier/ ---April 28--- We have begun to consider this option. We've had a great time talking about the possibilities on the French coast. We would love to travel Europe. The only thing missing is great gobs of cash, or at least enough money to do something more, other than pay bills. However, we are discovering there are places in the world where the limited retirement funds available to us can go further than they do where we live, and just might provide some of the possibilities we dream about. Here is the most recent article we discovered. It provides a goodly number of links for exploration. We have been amused by the "sales" nature of most of the descriptions we've read. There does not seem to be a whole lot of description of the negative aspects of relocating. All in all, that is not really surprising. Some of the comments to articles have been very interesting.
