In a Time of Trouble

People gathering, BL jobs being full, People demanding more jobs, and great times; does anyone remember these days?
When I joined CT the community was alive; it was truly a great place to be. Nowadays BL jobs are left open, ND jobs are offered in the Plaza, and the Plaza is sometimes left empty of people. In the past these things were never possible; Colony life was busy and happy and the Plaza was always full of people having a good time. Ever since Cybertown went pay the community has changed. Will it ever get better? I believe that unless the site becomes free again we may never have the community where it was in the past, but we can make these times work for us. In fact it is up to us to do that!
Let's look at some of the problems. Currently Colony life is very inactive because too many jobs are left vacant. In order for us to get active colonies again we would need to consolidate hoods into only two or three in each colony so staff positions will be filled. There simply aren't enough active residents for the amount of neighborhoods open. If we could delete several hoods colony life could improve. We wouldn't have the thriving colonies we had in the past with blocks full, but conditions would improve.
Also, events are also a major issue. Frankly there are too many events being advertised on one board in too short of time for people to seriously take notice of them. This results in poor turnout. What we need to do is use the
E-Plex and Party-Line groups to coordinate event times so we don't have two or more going on at once and the ones that are scheduled are advertised to a great extent. There simply aren't enough residents online for all of events advertised.
As for the Plaza… will it ever be the same. Not everyone logs in and goes to the Plaza. The best thing to do would just tell people to join in the chatting there. Schedule some more events there. It's not something that is just going to resolve itself. In fact some people that come to Cybertown don't care about chatting; they just go to the Flea Market and buy items and/or participate in their colony work, or place jobs. Just wait, in time we will get more residents.
Cybertown is currently in a time of need, but just maybe in time our residents will be able to stick it out and get our community back together. Its going to take a lot to get it back to where it was, but in time we can slowly, but surely, build it up. Cybertown citizens are some of the greatest people I have met, WE can do it, keep the faith!
