March 7
I finished the last page of friends, reading all bl;ogs and awarding points my friend count grew slighly to 58 I only have completed
reviewing 14 friends, in two days. I went to editing my blogs, looking to understand why I haven't progressed like I think I should.
There are a large number of us who are not getting the site reviews and points promised. I went back through looking at each stepo.
I also went through 40 inboxes, replying where I thought I should
March 6
Started the day at 56 friends, despite the fact that my count says 8 more! Curious. It is possible that many have removed me as
friend.
One of my friends created a game in a game: A href="http://www.urgentevoke.com/profiles/blogs/game1-play-power-evocation" target="new">http://www.urgentevoke.com/profiles/blogs/game1-play-power-evocation
I stopped my review of all friends and played! I did my set up, but will give my response more thought. Got to head into town in a short while, so will finish Amanda's blogs today.
evoke diary march 5.
After completing the weekend edition, of The Cybertown Daily News, I headed toward urgent evoke. Once there, I found that I had an increase in friends to 46, that rose to 55 duriing my time there. As I added more friends beyond 55, they didn't show up in my friend's list. When I left, I sent a message to all 55 of my team, making requests and a suggestion.
I remained focused and completed all three steps of mission 1, joined the mentoring program and awarded points for evidence presented through research, presentation of individual thoughts, ideas and pictures posted in response to their mission responses. I also responded to many inbox messages. Tomorrow, I'll continue by starting with my oldest site friends, reading blogs and awarding points .
March 4, 2010: Now, having moved this ongoing story to a separate web page from CVN Daily, I will continue revealing my experiences with urgent evoke. Anyone interested may certainly follow along. I noticed CNN did a nice story on Evoke. You can read it here: http://www.cnn.com/2010/TECH/03/01/evoke.game.africa.poverty/index.html I wonder if they will do any followup?
From posts I've read there are approximately 7000 people signed up to play.
Personally, I've gone from writing one post to several, including a photograhic essay. I've gone from two "friends" to 37, with around 23 invitations extended, but not yet accepted. The friendship module reminds me of facebook and works pretty much in the same way. I've created a spreadsheet to follow my progress with friends.
I found my post on an innovation focus, "start big, use constraints as a filter and find the simplest solutions. " as a page the site was having problems with and lost a goal. I'll see tomorrow if it has returned. The game sort of requires you to take on a video/picture site called vrimo, apparently used for video and images. I joined there too. Finally I had t re-register as a Mentor, and I still have to select gamers-at least one-to mentor. That module is primarily focused on encouragement. The page did offer "special missions" and I accepted that too. It will be interesting to see what comes of that. March 3, 2010: This game allows you to proceed at your own pace within a timeline through May, and I already have a few friends there. At this point, I'm considering mentoring, adding friends, finding a mentor to complete the second stage of Mission 1. I've completed the first stage and begun gathering points in the game. Completing that first stage of Mission 1 means I'll be classified as a founder at the end of the game.
If you join up, find me I've uploaded my picture and will report tomorrow on how to find me, if you have trouble. You can also post my inbox here in the city and I'll try to find you :D
I do want a any of you on Dialup to check it out and tell me how well it functions on dialup. For DSL there are video/audio possibilities in abundance.

It's Tokyo 2020, according to the seven page graphic novel presented at http://www.urgentevoke.com/ . Take a look at that, then the "about" section once you arrive. It will begin your training...
"EVOKE is free to play and open to anyone, anywhere. " and then you find out you have to await approval before further exploration.
Yes it's a game, but a game from a surprising source: The World Bank! This one has vast implications for Education as well as problem solvers everywhere. It is worth a look and perhaps worth playing! We jumped in. If you like it, pass the word to friends :) The game itself is scheduled to start on March 3rd 2010.
We did join and found the following:
"This is not a simulation. You are about to tackle real problems.
Food security. Energy. Water security. Disaster relief. Poverty. Pandemic. Education. Global conflict. Human rights. Welcome to the Evoke Network. Welcome to your crash course in changing the world."
Take a look for yourself and also read what others have to say :)
