How is Cybertown promoting its offers, entertainment and opportunities outside of Cybertown and in that other world (real life)? And is their any ideas of promoting CT on television or newpapers in the U.S.

hmmm, good question. Cybertown as an online community relies heavily on community members to assist in spreading the word about its benefits and to attract more members... A number of our members spread the word about Cybertown using material made available for this purpose within the community via flyers, web sites, the newly launched personal web pages with embedded metadata tags etc.More promotional ideas are being developed and will be made available in the community during the coming months...Merchandise is also available which can be prominently displayed at various trade shows, functions and events that take place in real life and this is another avenue being explored by Cybertown Inc.There will be a Cybertown presence at Dragon.Con for the second year running this year. A number of other trade shows and link ups to conventions are also being explored. We are also working in conjunction with a number of affiliates and partners for cross advertising opportunities to share customers and help us attract further members...Further info will be forthcoming on these initiatives in the coming months... Advertising via television or newspapers however is an extremely costly undertaking for which budget is not yet available and we have no current plans to move towards... This does not however rule out appearances in special technology shows that may be a potential in conjunction with some of our partners including IVN as we move towards the launch of Silhouette. Hopefully that answers the question...not sure if anyone has anything else they would like to add

There are currently no plans to make Cybertown a free site in the immediate future....

In today's economic climate, in any business, it is not feasible to continue as an entity without finding a way to sustain operational costs. The Sponsorship Team in Cybertown is working to leverage as much additional revenue via alternative routes to subscription as possible...This includes corporate sponsorships from organizations and the more recent launch of the affiliates pages in Cybertown however the bottom line is that running an online community of this complexity and magnitude requires sustained revenue to cover the costs. Subscription is currently the only viable route to sustained revenue...IVN's CEO has stated on a number of occasions, including recently, that when sufficient funding is obtained he would like to revert CT to a free site again. This is however not a guarantee... The Sponsorships team is always keen for new ideas for revenue opportunities for the community and if you feel you can contribute please do not hesitate in contacting me...I can be reached via email at Jason_RC@cbertown.com.

I am not so sure cost is the biggest issue, as if you can pay 5 dollars a month you can usually pay 10, and to get some new people in they need more than a month to get the feel of CT. I like the idea of either providing a very low additional $1 charge for a newbie or a work for credit to get people to stick around long enough to get as addicted as we are.

all I can say is I have been making unlimited items since I started creating, simply because I want everyone to have the ability to enjoy them.

the mall staff continually tries to keep the drops as open and fair as possible - suggestions are welcome in the mall inbox. The Mall Crafters Guild is always accepting applications from creators to join in the support of uploading unlimited items as well
