"All those concerns and suggestions have been tabulated and put in order. We are looking into the feasibility where needed but we are planning a series of Town Meetings to deal with these. Some suggestions prohibit others so there is choices to be made and it would be good to see how people feel about the choices.This is coming very soon. Just as soon as I get fully installed in the majors job. "

Major Changes in Cybertown City Council!!!

Mayor Jolinth today formally resigned from the role of Cybertown City Mayor. Cybertown Founder Hawk extended his gratitude for the endless hours of hard work and dedication she has shown to the community over the years and awarded her with the position of City Advisor (Caretaker).

In an announcement to the community, former Mayor Jolinth had the following to say…
"It is with heavy heart and mixed emotion that I now announce my resignation as the Mayor of our wonderful community. Due to RL constraints, I feel I am unable to give my focus and attention to the role that the position, and the community, demands and quite rightly expects.

It has been an honor and a privilege to have been the Mayor of such an amazing community and I wanted to take the time to thank you all for the support you have given me in the role over the last few years.

I am confident that the support you have shown me will continue for the new Mayor who takes up the post effective immediately.

I would like to thank the wonderful team of people on City Council, past and present for their efforts throughout the years. You have constantly questioned, commented, improved and inspired the best out of each other and long may it continue.

To the citizens of Cybertown, a huge thank you for everything you do. I never fail to be impressed at the commitment and dedication towards improving our community that is constantly shown by all of you.

Although I am stepping down as City Mayor, Hawk has graciously allowed me to become a caretaker so I won't be far for advice to the new Mayor, if required.

For those of you who don't know, currently when a Mayor feels its time to move on, he/she recommends his/her replacement and this is then voted upon by the Council prior to going to the Founder for final approval (just like how a new CL is elected). One major reason for this is that it is vital that any new Mayor be fully conversant with and trained in the procedures and functions of Council activity.

I guess you would all like to know who the new Mayor is now? :-)

I am pleased to announce that following the above process, the new Mayor of Cybertown will be MauveCat.

Mauve, I wish you all the best and hope that the role brings you as much joy as it did me. Having to balance the conflicting needs and views of a variety of people to help deliver what is in the best interests of the community can be challenging and it is, I am sure, a role you will at times enjoy, at many times despise, but at all times you will learn and grow from.

I look forward to seeing the community continue to develop and grow under your stewardship and to see you mature into a wonderful Mayor for us all.

Acting Deputy Mayor and City Places Liaison cheercoach also announced her retirement from City Council. cheercoach has been an active member of both the community and City Council for a number of years and Founder Hawk thanked her for her dedication and service.

Mauvecat Named New Cybertown Mayor


As can be seen from Jolinth's announcement, following her recommendation and discussion amongst the City Council members and Founder, MauveCat the former CL of Virtual Worlds has been voted in as the new Cybertown City Mayor. MauveCat brings with him a number of years of experience on City Council and received the unanimous approval and support of all Council members.

MauveCat had this to say about his new role…

"I feel greatly honored by the support and trust shown to me. Jolinth has provided me with a great example of how to be mayor. I will try my best to fulfill the trust given to me by her, Hawk and Cybertown. I will be finishing off the work started by Jolinth on the resident feedback initiative with the help of the City Council. I look forward to being your mayor and making Cybertown an even better place than it is."
A separate announcement on a new Deputy Mayor and the Mayoral Office Team will be forthcoming shortly.

zoozee New Virtual Worlds Colony Leader

With the announcement of the new City Mayor having been the Colony Leader of Virtual Worlds a new Colony Leader has also been introduced to City Council. The latest Colony Leader to head up the Virtual Worlds colony will be zoozee. zoozee is a long serving CD within Virtual Worlds and has a strong bond with its residents and the team in place. She will be a valuable asset to City Council and a wonderful leader for the Virtual Worlds Colony.

editme New Chiefs Liaison

With the retirement of cheercoach from the role of Places Liaison, a new Liaison to City Council has also been appointed. Following approval from the City Chiefs, City Council and Founder, Cybertown Bank Manager editme becomes the latest member of City Council as the representative for City Places. editme has a vast range of experience across the Cybertown community from leading the Sponsorship team as the former Sponsor IC to his roles as Colony Deputy in Inner Realms and Bank Manager. Editme has also been active on the City Chiefs Group and the CTPartyline team and is a wonderful addition to the team.

Chief's Liaison Resigns

The Chief's Group in Cybertown woke up last Monday to a call for immediate activity when longtime liaison to the Cybertown City Council, Cheercoach, announced her resignation to the group. The vote began Tuesday by the group resulting in editme's nick submitted to the Council for approval as the next liaison.

CVN extends regrets, congratulations on a job well done and a big smile for her plans. We welcome editme and look forward to his usual solid job and communications.

Cheercoach explained her reasons for resigning in her Monday email to the group:

"If you're all wondering why, it's for several reasons, the main one is I truely need to spend more time with my art work. I've recently sold some of my pictures and am looking to set up a business as well as entering more shows. (took first place in a recent local one already)"
For those curious about the job (chosen from active place Chiefs) Cheer explains a little of the job:
"I will tell you all it's not an easy job, and requires a lot of time and patience both within council as well as setting up the new chief interviews working with the secretaries on this etc."

1. take care of the chief's group by informing of any and all changes that are per council -- in other words liaison to council from the chief's group.
2. See to each area and if a new chief is needed, then work with the secretaries in setting up interviews, and passing on interviews to council.
3. Help all new chiefs if needed with any thing that they ask of you... including funds.
4. Attend all council meetings and council events and help out where and when needed there as well as in your city place.

Two New City Chiefs Appointed !!!

It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of not one but two new City Chiefs in Cybertown.

The Employment Office recently lost the services due to RL time pressures of its Chief dazman2000 and the team in place at the EO has continued to function in support of the community whilst activities have been taking place to find a replacement. It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of petite_artist as the new Employment Office Chief.

The City Guides have also been continuing to provide a high level of support to community members new and old alike whilst the Senior City Guide has been unable to dedicate as much time as they would wish to the role. Following a review by the City Advisors and the subsequent voting on recommended candidates by city council, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Silver_Lily as Cybertowns latest Senior City Guide.

Congratulations to you both on your new roles in the community.
