Deighv told us: "I've been thinking of giving 3dpNet a facelift, maybe a different skin or look. Any suggestions or ideas can be emailed to me at deighv@deighv.ca. We will soon have a "Gallery" of Medeusa's recent VRML creations to view in 3dpNet. Anyone else wanting a gallery of this type can contact me via email for info. I've had a lot of time on my hands (and elsewhere) so I thought taking a few classes at the local college would be a good idea. Second day in class and I am more bored now than before, hehe! PIE IS A MANY FLAVORED THING!!
CLICK the image for a LARGE version Article and pictures by Medeusa, Sentinel Reporter "This is supposed to be about pies :) Or rather: what my Mama taught me about pies, that's a better way to say it. Everybody learns about pie making from their Mama, Granny, Auntie, or whoever would happen to be THE piemaker in the family. Now, my Mama was very opinionated about pie: How it was made, what was put in it, but most especially about how many CRUSTS it was supposed to have. If it had 1 bottom only crust or 2 top and bottom crusts, it was a pie. Hot or cold, it was a pie. If it had 3 or more crusts it was a cobbler. Cheesecake is a different thing altogether. Cheesecake is neither pie or cake, it IS cheesecake. 'Nuff said, it also gives me headaches, that one does ;) Pies could be made of very different fillings: fruit, pudding, custard, there was one that my Granny called 'candy filled', and another one she called 'pecan praline' pie. They are ALL delicious, :D I get shivers thinking about homemade chocolate, cherry, and the 'pecan praline' pies. This last one was SO yummy that all the kids would fight over that one, ;) Now, on to cobblers. The best cobblers are made with fresh sweet fruit, and need no extra sweetening. Some of the ingredients you can buy. Maybe even the fruit, if you get it in season and make sure to SMELL each piece of fruit. You can buy the pie crust, unless you have a fantastic recipe that you LOVE and works every time. You will only need: at least 3 pie crusts, frozen grated butter, fruit (washed & the seeds taken out), and cooking spray. For your first time, I suggest you use a 8 X 8 pan. Spray the inside of the pan lightly. Line it bottom and all sides with one of the crusts. Place in one layer of fruit, followed with a light sprinkling of the grated butter. Add another crust, layer of fruit and more butter sprinkles. Add the last crust on top, sprinkle with butter. It never takes much butter and you CAN use margarine, but butter is SO much better. If you want to make more layers, feel free to add them. Layer with crust, fruit, grated butter in that order, finishing with a final top layer of crust. I've had a lot of people say they didn't know how to make an 'old-fashioned' cobbler, lol, there it is. NOW: As to that pecan praline pie, I never got the recipe, but I've tried several variations and think I might have figured it out. I'm sure everyone knows or has figured out the recipe for caramel (where you cook the can in water??), if not, please search for it on you tube. I think it's under Banoffee Pie. Or make caramel your own way :D I have no recipe of my own for caramel, that's why I suggest searching youtube* Now, cook a regular pie crust with nothing in it. When it comes out, after it cools, fill it with pecans. Then dump the caramel all over the pecans. You may have to do this in stages and warm it up a little bit in the oven to get it to all into the pecans, but its worth it! It also may be hard to cut through those pecans, but Enjoy :D!!!"Latest News from Last Week

by Founder deighv Expected date for 3DP's return is still around the first week of October. Quite a few new members for 3dpNet since 3DP has been down. The ePod has been around in one form or another since the 2nd year 3DP was open. Currently it displays links for the eRadio and eCinema. We have 9 movies on the eCinema right now, all current releases are converted to a format that everyone with broadband should be able to stream full-screen with minimal loss of detail. New movies are added when available. Once you open either the Radio or Cinema from the ePod you can bookmark their URL so you can open them directly anytime, anywhere. I will be adding more 3D Worlds to the 3D Chat Menu soon.
